Build
The building of the wall has begun, and so have the distractions from outside the walls and from within. The enemy mockingly begins pointing out the very real hurdles that the people of Judah will need to overcome. Meanwhile, fatigue and doubt begin to set in inside the walls as they begin looking at the obstacles instead of God.
The reality of what we see is not always the reality of what God says. The enemy and our own doubt sometimes strive to take our focus away from the marvelous work of God and instead focus on the opposition.
"The people had a mind to work (v. 6), a heart to pray (v. 9), an eye to watch (v. 9), and an ear to hear (v. 20); and this gave them the victory." -Dr. Alan Redpath (Victorious Christian Service, Revell, 1958; pp. 76–79).”
